Food Trucks at SoWa
If you’re looking for something fun to do on a Sunday, you have to check out the food truck bonanza that’s going on at the SoWa Open Market in South End.
Now, a few years ago, when the SoWa brand came out, I was one of the people who thought it’s kind of trite. It’s like SoHo or Soma, so what? But the truth is, this part of the city is really earning its stripes and you can call it anything you want, it’s a lot of fun. On Sundays you have the vintage market, where all kinds of collectibles are traded, you have the farmers market, where you can get fresh produce and now the open market—including the food trucks—and from 10 to 4 on Sundays year-round you have the choice of a lot of cuisine you would not typically associate with a food truck. Including concessions like Lobsta Love, Taco Party, Del’s Lemonade, Boston’s Baddest Burger, and the Bacon Truck. But they rotate, there are a lot of them.
Hundreds of people come out; it is the place where South Enders are getting together. It is the kind of thing where if you’ve got some extra time and you want to go down and you want to check out what is quickly becoming Boston’s prime tourist attraction—or one of them—this would be the place to go.
So happy eating, and see you down there!
